Striving to let audiences explore and appreciate the...genre, this quartet’s repertoire features a wide array of jazz styles from originals to standards. The group has been featured on National Public Radio, has performed residencies throughout North American and debuted in New York City at the esteemed "jazz church" of Saint Peter's. Members include Robert Auler on keyboards, Eric Schmitz on drums, Trevor Jorgensen on saxophone and Max McKee on bass.

As one of the oldest museums in the United States, the Albany Institute of History & Art was founded in 1791, during the presidency of George Washington. Algorithms, which are usually associated with complex mathematics and intricate coding, are in fact simple and hugely useful. In their simplest form, algorithms can be thought of as the systematization of any process. Any business, from finance to fashion, is organized and operates through a set of principals that can be defined and, to a certain extent, automated by a computerized algorithm. This class will make that process accessible to anyone. In this session we'll explore the 'right' and 'wrong' ways to think about algorithms and we'll introduce case studies of 'algoithmic thinking' across a broad range of businesses. Students will leave this class comfortable with algorithms and with an ability to apply the concepts discussed to their businesses.
Adam Levine is the Collections Management Assistant in the Greek & Roman Department at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Prior to joining the Metropolitan, Adam held a Rhodes Scholarship at the University of Oxford, where he received an MSt in the History of Art and Visual Culture; he will received his DPhil in 2012. While at Oxford, Adam co-founded and served as CEO of Art Research Technologies, a company that algorithmically values artwork. Adam graduated from Dartmouth with degrees in Art History, Anthropology, and Applied Mathematics.
