ALBANY - It was "embarrassing" and it was "humiliating". That's how Jimmy Miller sums up his high-profile drunken driving ordeal. The public face of the Albany Police Department is back on the job, effective Friday. His reinstatement to the force coincides with the release of the department's dashboard video that is less than flattering for Jim Miller
When Miller broke his long silence on Wednesday, he said, "There's no question in my mind that I can resume my duties" as Albany's public information officer. He also stated, "Hopefully the public will feel the same way."
Miller's odyssey began in downtown Albany on March 18, around 9:30 in the evening. His black, department-issued SUV was seen driving without any running lights, and Officer John Crossman pulled him over.
Crossman asked Miller if he had been drinking and Miller responded, "No."
