Humane Society holds low-cost vaccination clinics in Albany | Events
The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society is holding a low-cost vaccination clinic for cats and dogs on Thursday, Oct. 13 from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the parking lot at the Price Chopper on 40 Delaware Avenue in Albany.
The clinic will offer rabies vaccinations and distemper vaccinations for $10 each. Microchipping will also be available at $10 per animal.
Appointments are not necessary; people with pets will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis. This is a cash only event; checks and credit cards will not be accepted. Cats are required to be in a carrier and all dogs must be on a leash.
“These low-cost clinics are directly related to our mission and aimed at keeping area pets healthy. We want to help keep disease at a minimum. Rabies shots are required by law and the more animals who have distemper shots, the less likely it is that the disease will spread,” said MHHS Executive Director Brad Shear in a statement. “Microchipping helps owners find their pets if they become lost. Shelters and vets scan stray pets to see if there is a microchip so the owner can be notified more quickly.”
The Society is located at 3 Oakland Avenue in Menands and is open seven days a week.
