St. Rose presents 'Freedom Summer'
Events, Schools

The College of Saint Rose is presenting the debut of “Freedom Summer” this weekend.

The “living historical theatrical documentary” is co-sponsored by Legends and Legacies Theater Series and the Saint Rose Office of Intercultural Leadership.

The production is free and open to the public.

The play is written, produced and directed by community singer, writer, actor and teacher, Donald Hyman, who is teaching “Urban American Studies” at Saint Rose.  The cast reflects the multicultural diversity of the Capital Region, featuring college students, civil service workers, retirees, teachers, lawyers and members of the clergy.

It will premiere Saturday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. in the Saint Joseph Hall Auditorium on 985 Madison Ave. in Albany.
