Sign remains at Lark Tavern until commission decides if it can stay
ALBANY - A new sign on an old building is looking for a new permit in Albany. The Lark Tavern on Madison Avenue recently reopened after a devastating fire.
The new owners received permission from City Hall to put up a vintage looking sign. It turns out, the city's Historic Resources Commission did not approved the sign.
The Historic Commission acknowledges the fault lies with City Hall, not Lark Tavern and the sign has remained up while a decision is being made.
That decision could come Wednesday after a hearing.
