WAMC to air final Ernie Williams concert | News

ALBANY - The final public performance of Capital Region blues legend Ernie Williams will be broadcast this weekend.

WAMC radio will air a special program in honor of the bluesman. It will feature the most recent concert Williams did at The Linda.

Williams held a birthday celebration every year at The Linda where he had been a fixture since 2004.

The special broadcast will include interview clips from Williams' friends and musical collaborators, including longtime guitarist Mark Emanation, Woodstock guitar slinger David Malachowski and others.

Williams died unexpectedly March 22. He was 87.
