The Tulip Queen is crowned | News

ALBANY – The 2012 Tulip Queen was crowned on Saturday in Washington Park during the Tulip Festival.

Emily Finnegan, a 20-year-old junior at SUNY Albany, said she was shocked by her win.

“I think all four of these girls are completely overqualified,” she said. “It’s just been such a blessing, such an honor.”

Finnegan was one of five finalists out of a field of 100 who were nominated for the title. All five candidates will work together to promote literacy in the Capital Region.
