Police investigate food mart armed robbery in Albany | News

ALBANY – Albany police are investigating an armed robbery that happened Thursday night after police received a call from a clerk who said he had been robbed.

Police said they responded to The Food Mart located at 91 Southern Boulevard just before 6 p.m. Thursday after they received a call from the clerk. He told police that a man walked up to the counter, displayed a handgun and demanded money.

The clerk told police he gave the suspect money and no injuries were reported.

Police said the suspect fled the scene on foot and is described as a black male, 5’10,” 160 pounds, wearing a striped polo shirt and a Yankees baseball hat.
