GUILDERLAND - Guilderland police are investigating a case of vandalism involving two campaign signs that were defaced with swastikas.

The signs belong to Democratic Assembly candidate William McCarthy. They were placed along the roadway on Route 155 near the New Scotland line.

Police say it appears to be an isolated incident.

Right now they have no leads. Police are asking anyone with information to call them.

McCarthy is in a six-way primary for the 109th Assembly District. His opponents include Jim Coyne, Chris Higgins, Frank Commisso Jr., Margarita Perez and Patricia Fahy.

The winner will run against Republican Ted Danz.
